At just 14 years old, Mohamed picked up a pair of clippers for the first time — and never looked back. Growing up with a deep passion for craft and style, he spent years honing his technique, cutting hair for friends, family, and anyone who would sit in his chair. What started as a hobby quickly became a calling. Every fade, every line, every shape-up was one step closer to something bigger.

After years of perfecting his craft, Mohamed made it official. In September 2024, he opened New Paltz Barbershop right here in the heart of New Paltz, NY — just him, one chair, and a commitment to give every client his absolute best. Word spread fast. The community showed up. And it was clear from day one that New Paltz had been waiting for exactly this kind of shop.

In 2025, Katherine joined New Paltz Barbershop, bringing with her a wealth of salon expertise and a genuine passion for her clients. Specializing in coloring, highlights, women's cuts, and full styling services, Katherine transformed the shop into a true full-service destination, where everyone, from the freshest fade to the boldest color transformation, can leave looking and feeling their best.

What began with one barber and one chair has grown into something truly special. Mohamed and Katherine have now served over 2,000 clients, families, students, professionals, and everyone in between.
